Shellfish loot disappears

I am doing the Provisions quest and I encountered a weird behavior of the game: very often the loot that falls from the Shellfish - including quest items - just disappears before my eyes, before I can even try to pick it up.

Same thing is happening when I try to hunt Cornutuses for meat in another quest, the loot disappears as soon as it hits the ground.

It's not just disappearing; the blobs are probably eating it. xD (not joking) Kill the blobs nearby to get your stuff back. Your loot would only de-spawn if left alone for ~1 minute.
