Skill Usage
Disrupt Magic (or shortened as disrupt), is a key situational skill in which allows you to prevent a monster or boss from carrying out one of their magical spells during at the time of their cast. With it's near instant casting time, you can stop certain spells guaranteed that the person using disrupt can respond to it quickly.
A similar skill possessed by Warriors, Smite can prevent both physical and magical spells, unlike Disrupt Magic, which can only prevent magical spells.
Notes
- Disrupt Magic can only prevent magical spells and not physical spells. For instance, an AoE such as Lightning Bolt can be prevented, but a skill such as Pounce cannot. There are some spells that cannot be interrupted at all, and must be countered occasionally by using evasive or stacking maneuvers.
- Few bosses are immune to being interrupted with entirely, or has a limit to the number of interrupts it can receive before becoming fully immune to them. A particular monster such as the Beholder (from Blackwood Depths) can interrupt all spells at close proximity if it is not already suffering from freeze or sleep.
