Saliko and the Kingdom of Elyssia are inhabited by numerous characters that need your help. By fighting for their causes, you can increase your reputation with them, which in turn gives you various benefits:

  • Blacksmiths will charge you less for repairing your armour.
  • Storekeepers will give you a discount on their wares.
  • Some stores will have special rewards that you can obtain once your standing is high enough.

Each group of characters you can gain reputation for has a faction, which shows under their name when you hover them with your mouse. Your standing with each faction is shown in your reputation window, which you can open through the game menu.

Dotted lines in the reputation bar indicate once your status with each faction will change. There are four main stati:

  • [Hostile]: Below the red dotted line, you are hostile with a faction. Any members of them will attack you on sight. If you hover them, their name is shown in red.
  • [Unfriendly]: One step above hostile, an unfriendly character will neither talk to you, nor buy or sell, nor offer quests, however they also no longer attack you on sight. If you hover them, their name is shown in orange.
  • [Neutral]: Starting at neutral, you can interact with characters of a faction. If you hover them, their name is shown in yellow.
  • [Friendly]: Once you are friendly with a faction, their spells will no longer hurt you (and neither will they be hurt by your spells). If you hover them, their name is shown in green.

After friendly, you can further increase your reputation with a faction, which will increase the discounts they give you. In addition, some rewards may require a certain standing before you can obtain them.
