A character's name tag is what you see when you hover them with your name. Generally, it will list the following information (if available):

*Titles: Characters can choose a title to display on their name tag if they wish. Titles can be gained by in game achievements, such as an award from receiving a certain trophy. 
* Name: The name of the character, such as "Priestess Alyshia" or "Field Bug"
** The name of a character is colour-coded based on the characters disposition towards you, as well as its status:
*** Red: [[Hostile]]
*** Yellow: [[Neutral]]
*** Green: [[Friendly]]
*** Blue: other players
*** Orange: Game Masters (Moderators may have a light blue "Moderator" label below their name, however they can hide it if they prefer to)
* Guild: If they are guilded, the name of their guild is shown in &laquo;double-angled brackets&raquo;.
* Level: The level of the character, such as "Level 3".
** Levels are colour-coded in respect to your own level. You do not get extra [[experience]] for beating monsters significantly higher level than you:
*** Red: Out of your league, will need concentrated effort to beat.
*** Orange: Significantly higher level than you, will be a challenge to beat.
*** Yellow: Higher level than you, may be hard to beat at your level.
*** White: Around your level.
*** Grey: Significantly lower level than you, will likely pose no challenge. The entire name tag will be shown in grey if the character is in combat with someone else. In this case, you will not get experience or loot from defeating it.
** A monster with a "+" after their level has a [[Level#Dynamic Levels | dynamic level]] - their true level depends on what they are attacking, but they are no lower than the level indicated in the name tag.
* Race/Class: The race of the character, such as "Insect". For players, the class (Priest, Warrior, Mage, ...) is shown instead of their [[race]] (player characters are always classified as "Brute").
* Status: Any special status the character has, like "Guardian", "High Guardian", "NPC".
* Combat Information: Whether the character is in combat, and with whom.
