I don't play a hunter that often, but you have to treat them like a distance fighter. They have poor defenses, so fighting anything up close up is pure suicide. You always have to keep a distance and attack from afar. Their projectile skills can be quite devastating, almost on par with any mage skill. In PVP, they were very good at sniping, bringing down strong opponents, and were also hard to catch. It sort of comes down to tactics. Hunters are good at hit and runs tactics, and luring you into traps. But it's a hard class to play, because you are physically weak against all attacks, and you have to think way ahead on things - thinking of escape routes, and places to hide and set up traps. It's hard to explain, but in this game, this class seems out of place, compared to the other classes, but it also seems logical as well to have them at the same time.... Maybe that is another reason why very few people play it.
