Baldarr the Cruel is the first boss in the "Battle for Ashaya Village". He is located directly behind the North exit of Ashaya village. You will need at least one healer, one tank and one damage dealer.
- Defeating Baldarr the Cruel starts all the other events that take place in the dungeon, as well as the timer for the "One Moment in Time" trophy.
- This boss encounter has no hard mode. The dungeon setting (whether or not the crystal is activated) has no effect on this boss, but will affect every other boss in the dungeon past Baldarr.
Lesser Bodyguard: Baldarr the Cruel is initially surrounded by three Lesser Bodyguards. They will all engage in battle together.
Abilities
- Summon Elemental: Baldarr the Cruel will regularly summon a Frozen Elemental, which will join him in battle.
- Blizzard: Summons a raging Blizzard that deals high water damage to any player caught in it. Interruptible.
- Thunderbolt: Shoots a focused thunderwave on the target, dealing moderate wind damage. Baldarr the Cruel will target two random players. If at least three players are alive, it will not target its current target with it. Interruptible.
- Wind Gust: Summons a strong blast of wind at the caster's current location, knocking all targets away while dealing low wind damage. Interruptible.
- Berserk: Seven minutes into the battle, Baldarr the Cruel will go into a frenzied rage, increasing his damage by 1000%.
Frozen Elemental
- Frost Blast: Hits the target with a frozen blast for low water damage.
- Gather Energy: The Frozen Elemental gathers the raw power of the elements, increasing his power and granting it devastating abilities. Stacks to 3, after which it gains ...
- Elemental Fury: The Frozen Elemental is at the peak of its power, allowing it to use the raw power of the elements to lay waste to its enemies!
- Permafrost Breath: Focuses the raw power of Elemental Fury into a single attack, dealing high water damage to any target in front of the Frozen Elemental over four seconds. Removes Elemental Fury.
Lesser Bodyguard
- Frost Bolt: Shoots an icy bolt at the target, dealing water damage and slowing it by 15%. Stacks up to three times.
- Ice Spikes: Summons ice spikes from the ground, dealing moderately high water damage to any enemy in the targeted area.
- Frost Nova: Encases enemies within 6 metres of you in ice for up to 13 seconds.
- Thunderbolt: Summons a ball of electric energy that hits your target for high wind element damage. Used on frozen targets.
