April Fools

April Fools is a minor event that takes place on each year of April 1st. Although the event only lasts for a single day, there is a lot of fooling around going on in the game despite being harmless. Here are the reasons why.

The Jokes On You

  • There is a chance of randomly acquiring Fleas. This debuff has no effect whatsoever but is contagious. The more that a player walks past another player with Fleas, the more likely for them to acquire it as well. This can be done to unintentionally expand the lifespan of these fleas.
  • There is a chance that you get a debuff that says that you have an itchy spot on your back. This has no effect.
  • Mages who use Fire spells have a chance to singe their paws. This has no negative effect, lasting only several seconds but causes your character's paws to have embers on it.
  • When battling a monster, there is a chance that the client will say that you fell in love with that monster and are unable to attack them. This is untrue, as you can still attack them.
  • Upon death, you appear to have lost 5% of your experience. This is untrue, as refreshing the game will put your experience back to where it should've been. This also shows a typical mario black screen prior to respawning with your lives counting down. This can be further decreased into the negatives, or increased as a 1UP by defeating bosses.
  • When dying multiple times, the game will say that you have permanently died. Your character will lose all of it's currently worn equipment (excluding costumes and tabards) as it is scattered onto the ground, unable to pick it up as it disappears. Clicking on the Create a New Character button will respawn your wolf, appearing as though you lost your equipment (this is the client side that's fooling you), but your health and stats stay the same (because it never actually went away in the server side of the game). Refreshing the game will bring your equipment back. This is only shown to your screen and others will still see that you have your original equipment worn.
    • The monster that defeated you in battle will appear to have leveled up by one. This is again, the client side fooling you with the monster's level while the server maintains the same level as before.
