Guild versus Guild

The Raid for Schwartzwald Castle, otherwise known as GVG, is a PvP event that occurs regularly on Tuesdays at 9:00 ET, and on Saturdays at 6:20 ET. A maximum of five participants from each Guild or Alliance may engage in the fight.

Rules

  • GvG is fought very similarly to The Battle for Schwartzwald Castle, the main difference being that instead of two competing teams, an unlimited amount of guilds may participate in a free for all.
  • The event may last for a maximum of 15 minutes, but if the attacking guilds cannot best the defenders in five minutes starting from whenever the castle was last conquered, the battle will end before time is called, declaring the defending guild victorious. If no guild is able to control the castle for more than five minutes, the guild holding the castle at the 15 minute mark wins.
  • Guild leaders may choose to forge an alliance, joining the forces of two guilds. If victorious, the two guilds will share in the benefits of the castle. Only one guild however, will be declared the "official" winner and have their tabard displayed. This is decided based upon the guild of the player that dealt the final blow to the relic.
  • To prevent unfair mobbing, a limit of five players from each guild or alliance may be queued at a time. This is done through the guild roster by members with sufficient permissions. Players may be queued and unqueued at any time before the battle; During the battle, you may still queue new participants, however, you may no longer unqueue them.

Battleground Notes

  • Players must destroy the gates protecting the Ancient Relic and ultimately the relic itself as well as counter attacks from the defending Guild.
  • All hostile Guilds will be teleported out of the castle when the relic is shattered, giving time for a defense to be set up.
  • The guild that currently holds the castle can click on the runes scattered around in it to quickly move between the courtyard and the keep.
  • Damaged castle gates may be repaired by using Sturdy Branches. These are collected from saplings that spawn outside the castle.
  • The relic will slowly regenerate health after a period of time.

Rewards

During the battle, Small Wooden Chests will spawn throughout the castle, free for all players to loot. These chests will contain small rewards including various Schwartzwald coins and Tokens of Honour.

The victorious guild will be able to access the Guild Dungeon, which contains rare bosses and is plentiful in resources. Shael will become your servant until the next GVG, giving you access to the Castle Warp. Warping through the Castle will not set the usual 30 minute cooldown on your warp scroll. As well as letting you warp frequently, Shael also offers warps to some areas not availible from your scroll. Your guild will also be able to prepare for the next fight beforehand, letting you set up defences to counter the attack.
