Masked (Level)

Masked monsters, which are shown to be "Level --", are monsters that are significantly higher level than you. Their exact level is not shown (as its stats against you are maxed out), however they are at least ten levels above your own, and you should probably consider running (away).

• A masked monster has a greatly increased chance to hit you with critical strikes (+50%), and is unlikely to miss (-95%).
• At the same time, your chance to hit a masked monster is greatly decreased (-90%).
• They will be highly aggressive towards you, attacking you from a much greater distance than they would normally do.
• A masked monster gives you virtually no experience (-90% before any sharing). If you are in a group, your share of the experience that you receive is reduced to a small fraction of its original value (note that the share you receive is already reduced by being in a group with much higher levelled players). This is why begging high-levelled players to "boost" you is likely not a very good use of time for either of you. If you want to receive the highest possible amount of experience per kill, group up with several friends of your own level, or enable level syncing in the group options.
