NPC: Kiu

Kiu is a NPC in The Cave to Midnight Mountain. She was separated from her friend Lenore and her pet lizard Hope after an avalanche caused the cave entrance to collapse.

Background

Kiu is a alchemy student from a school in Ashaya Village. Kiu, along with Lenore, made a dare with a fellow student at school to bring back one of the amethyst rocks from the caves in Midnight Mountain. Kiu had also brought her pet lizard Hope to them as they ventured into the cave. Unbeknownst to them, an avalanche occurred on the mountain, destroying the bridge and separating the three of them as boulders collapsed onto the entrance. Kiu was able to escape outside unharmed but with Hope missing and still inside the cave somewhere. Lenore fell moments before the cave entrance collapsed, wounding her, but she was able to treat herself and venture further into the cave.

Spoilers

When the player first meets Kiu, she is alone without her pet lizard Hope and the cave entrance to Midnight Mountain is sealed off. The player assists her in opening up the cave entrance by stealing gunpowder and other materials from the exiles in The Exile Camp to make an explosive. After opening up the cave, Kiu asks the player to find Hope, only to discover that she was injured by the exiles.
