Distilling

Jump to: navigation, search

Distilling is a mechanic in the game that allows you to turn several weaker potions into stronger potions. It is recommended that you distill when you have a bunch of weaker potions flooding up your inventory or storage. The process has been somewhat outdated, however it still exists within the game.

How does Distilling work?

To start off, you need a Brass Pot Still (can be purchased from Lieshy for 15 gold) or a Steel Pot Still (from the miner in Cave to Midnight Mountain for 495 gold, or defeat him with a extremely low chance of it dropping). The Brass Pot Still is cheaper in price, but it requires 5 of the same potion in order to make a single potion that is one tier higher. The Steel Pot Still is more expensive in price, but requires 4 of the same potion instead.

Next, you need three pieces of Coal (obtained from the Living Coal monsters in Cave to Midnight Mountain) for each type of potion you're trying to distill. For example, if you wanted to make 100 Condensed Healing Potions and 100 Condensed Mana Potions with a Brass Pot Still, you only need 6 Coal, 500 Lesser Healing Potions and 500 Lesser Mana Potions.

When you double-click on your still pot, it'll show you a tab with two item slots in it. Add the entire batch of weaker potions to the 1st item slot on the left, then add 3 Coal in the 2nd item slot to the right and press Ok to distill them. Every time you use the still pot, you can only add one type of potion at a time.

What Potions can be Distilled?

Potion to be Distilled Result
Small Healing Potion Lesser Healing Potion
Small Mana Potion Lesser Mana Potion
Lesser Healing Potion Condensed Healing Potion
Lesser Mana Potion Condensed Mana Potion
Mixed Herb Potion Condensed Mixed Herb Potion
Forest Herb Potion Condensed Forest Herb Potion
Healing Potion Greater Healing Potion
Mana Potion Greater Mana Potion

Notes

  • Condensed Potions have no minimum level requirements, making them useful in low level dungeons where level scaling exists.
  • Condensed Healing and Condensed Mana are equivalent to a regular healing/mana potion, whereas the Condensed Mixed Herb is more powerful than a regular healing potion, but weaker than a greater healing potion.
