SPOILER ALERT: This article may reveal locations early on that are found later on in the game. Discretion is advised.

Factions are groups of diverse characters associated to a particular background and place in the world of Elyssia. Such examples are the residents of Saliko. By helping out NPC's in a particular region, you gain reputation with them, which then in turn gives you various benefits.

The factions that exist within the game are as follows:

Faction Description
Saliko Saliko Village is a small settlement in the idyllic meadows near the shores. Far away from the grasp of Midnight Mountain, the denizens go about their daily routines, taking care of their livestock, plantations and brewing potions from the variety of herbs that grow in the lush forests surrounding them. Their peaceful days, however, are threatened by the presence of a rogue villain named Cladt Scytheclaw, who assaults unsuspecting villagers, stealing their belongings and stirring unrest and fear for when he is going to strike next.
Ashaya Located in the heights of the Kingdom of Elyssia, the villagers of Ashaya live off the scarce resources that the snow-covered plains of Elyssia have to offer. With the demons inhabiting the icy forests constantly pounding on the fortified village walls, several fighters have dedicated themselves to protect Ashaya. As the Ashaya Village Guard, they fend off the masses of demons, fighting a desperate battle to keep their village safe.
Ashaya Exiles[1] Exiled from the protective walls of Ashaya Village for one reason or another, the Ashaya Exiles have created a small camp near Midnight Mountain. Their deep grudge against every last one of the villagers that remain in the safe homes of Ashaya is only surpassed by their greed for wealth. In the mineral-rich cave of Midnight Mountain, they mine for anything valuable they can find, building armour and weapons for themselves, and selling the rest for gold.
Spirits of Argan Jungle Well hidden in the dense thicket from the sight of the casual adventurer, the spirits of Argan Village are a group of benevolent elementals native to Midnight Mountain that have made Argan Jungle their home. They scurry through the dense undergrowth of the abundant wilderness, gathering herbs and moondust to protect their beloved jungle. With the recent influx from creatures of pure darkness, the spirits have suffered heavy losses. In a struggle to return Midnight Mountain to what it used to be, they forge new alliances, sharing their knowledge with a few select adventurers they trust.
Blackwood Jungle Located in the heart of the jungle of Midnight Mountain, Blackwood is home of numerous plant and tree spirits, as well as settlers that have lived in the Blackwood Caverns for many generations. While spirits and settlers usually live in distinct regions, there are some that share habitats, enjoying the benefits of living together, be it the protection of the settlers' cave offer, or the knowledge and magical power the spirits possess. Word spreads quickly across the spirits, and so the reputation influence of Blackwood far exceeds the mere confines of the Blackwood Caverns.

  1. The "At War" option is unlocked as you gain reputation with the Ashaya Exiles. Eventually, they will become friendly to you (with "At War" set to off by default), but hostile to any other player that has not befriended them yet (they become neutral through Kiu's quest line). Beware, if you engage the Ashaya Exiles as a result of turning on "At War" or simply being in a group with an ally that defeated one of the exiles, you will lose reputation with them. However, you can do the repeatable daily quest with the guard to obtain a large amount of reputation back.
