Magic Armor

Magic resistance, or commonly referred to as Magic Armor, is a secondary stat that reduces the damage dealt by magical spells.

When found on equipment, Magic Armor refers to a reduction in magic damage applied against all elements. Magic Resistance (any specific elements) only reduces the magic damage of the elements listed.

Because the bulk of your equipment can have both magic armor and individual resistances, magic resistance shown in your stat window may appear to be split (e.g. 17/21). The number on the left represents your lowest resistance for one element, and the number on the right represents your highest resistance for one element. Hovering over the stat shows a detailed list of all the individual magic resistances.

Mage/Priest equipment, as well as Bags, are more likely to possess Magic Armor. Refining does not increase Magic Armor, only Armor.
