Star Shower Festival

Jump to: navigation, search

The Star Shower Festival, also known as the Star Festival, is an event that takes place during January, shortly after the New Year's events have passed. It takes place in Ashaya Village, where it is celebrated as a local holiday to the residents living there. Many players band together to collect a large sum of Stardust from Galepeak. During this time, the blizzard that surrounds Galepeak disappears for the duration of the event. Players will hand over their collected stardust to Benjamin, which eventually stockpiles the dust in a stone circle located in the middle of the village.

It is the most recent event added into the game. This is the only time in which you can watch a meteor shower occur for the duration of the festival.

History

In the quest Star Shower on Galepeak, Benjamin explains the history behind the festival. The lore of it mentioned through this quest is stated below:

Every year, some time around the end of December, a large swarm of meteoroids passes by our planet.

While the bulk of them remains at quite a distance, some smaller outliers become attracted by gravity and create quite a spectacle that is best observed on the East side of Galepeak.

Ashaya Village has made it tradition to celebrate this star shower in a local holiday called the Star Festival. During these days, anyone is encouraged to visit Galepeak and gather the fragments of any meteorites they find on the ground. Most of the locals bring them here to Ashaya, where we collect them in this stone circle, as a gift to the Earth spirits.

Participation Details

Star Shower Festival is partially unavailable at this time. Players can still collect stardust and find stardust themed equipment on Galepeak, but there will be no new tabard/equipment released, nor there will be any competition for most stardust collected.

The goal of the festival is for the community to work together to obtain a total sum of stardust from Galepeak. During this time, traveling to Galepeak is clear (instead of the usual blizzard that damages you over time) and periodically drops several comets, which plummet into the ground and litter the map for players to collect as stardust. Please note that most of the stardust can be only collected on the east side of Galepeak, and monsters are still active on the mountain as the event progresses.

Players will travel back to Benjamin in Ashaya Village from Galepeak to turn in the stardust. There are two requirements for this event quest: the minimum turn-in which is 50 stardust per player, and the community effort portion. Once the pile of stardust on the stone circle reaches it's desired total, players will then be able to complete the event quest that is given by Benjamin.

During previous years of the event, players could compete against each other to see who can turn in the most amount of stardust before the event ends. The winner receives a new Stardust item, which can later be found while collecting stardust.

Rewards

For their participation in the event quest (Star Shower on Galepeak) from Benjamin, players can obtain one of several special event tabards (2017-2021) with a specific year sewn onto it. The Stardust Tabard does not have any stats, but is mostly for aesthetics.

While collecting stardust on Galepeak, there is a small chance for one of the stardust piles to drop one of the following equipment:

These items are bound immediately after picking it up, or with a timer on it in a group.

Notes

  • Note that if you want to keep your stardust for any reason such as preserving it as a souvenir, you should put this dust on another character or in storage before turning it in. Benjamin will take all of the stardust you have in your inventory and will not ask how much do you want to donate.
