A mount is a magical, mechanical/physical object or monster that enables the player to ride on it. There are only a select few mounts found in the game, mostly through events, quests, and/or dungeons (through bosses). Certain pets can also act as a mount.
Contents
Types of Mounts
- Pets/Monsters (self + 1 other player)
- The lizard pet from the exotic trader near the Blackwood Blast Mine can be mounted on by a character and another player. Later versions of the pet also have the ability to mount. Must be purchased for 175 gold.
- Broomstick (self only)
- Old Broomstick can be found from Aeris in The Cursed Farm.
- Sleds (1 other player only)
- Wooden Sleds can be obtained directly from the Christmas events, after participating in Secret Santa and setting up your very own tree during the tree hunt/opening presents.
- The Gaudy Bobsled can be obtained as a schematic from the tree hunt/presents opening (from the Christmas events) that is given to Lieshy. She will ask you to fetch materials for it.
- Rocket (self or 1 other player)
- The Valentine Gift Box has a low chance to give the Valentine Rocket. Gift boxes can be obtained from defeating Danae in the Everchange Hideout (deepest part of the Everchange Caverns), or purchased through Jasmine's shop in Ashaya Village.
- Carriage (self + 1 other player)
- The Bluebell Carriage can be obtained as part of the Flower Festival quest line with Laurel/Carolyn, and Nicole in Blackwood during the Valentine's events.
- Hot Air Balloon (self + 1 other player)
- The Hot Air Balloon can be obtained as part of the quest line with Andrey in Blackwood Caverns during the Valentine's events. Requires you to defeat Danae in the Everchange Caverns for a chance to drop the special leather to start this quest line.
Mount Functions
- The lizard pet is best known for allowing both you and another player to ride on it, while also allowing you to get on or off of it without dismounting the player that is riding on it. Mages can also bring a player along while riding their lizard pet to teleport them off to somewhere.
- You can have one player on a lizard mount, while having another player on a sled, allowing you to teleport up to two people. The amount of people that is being teleported increases, as long as they have their own lizards and sleds to carry players, resulting in a teleport chain.
- The broomstick is best known for being a floating mount that you can ride on to avoid fall damage falling from high areas. Only you can ride in your own broomstick. It is also the most compatible mount (doesn't despawn your other mounts), allowing you to combine other mounts with it, as long as you summon the broomstick last.
- The sled is best known for giving another player a ride across maps, especially locked areas. You cannot ride in your own sled. The sled does not limit you to the mount's speed, allowing your character to utilize a variety of speed buffs, as well as sprinting. Mages can also bring a player along in a sled to teleport them off to somewhere.
- If you let go of your sled while the sled is still moving at the right time, the sled will glide on it's own in one direction for a certain amount of distance, and stop shortly afterwards. Getting close to it afterwards and trying to click on it will result in the "You are too far away" error, making you unable to interact with it. To fix this problem, simply despawn the sled and resummon it.
- The rocket is best known for giving another player a floating mount to ride on that they can control. This can be combined with the broomstick (with you riding on it) so that both you and the other player can safely avoid fall damage falling from a large height.
- The carriage mount can be summoned in mid-air, saving you from fall damage and immediately returning you to your last known platform you were on in the map (while in the carriage). Dismounting from the carriage temporarily puts your character into the spot where you should've fell onto, and moving a little or sitting will return you back to the previous platform.
- After acquiring the petal cannon schematics and doing the quest line to upgrade your carriage, the person riding in your backseat can use the petal cannon to shoot petals at a target (with a cooldown).
- The hot air balloon mount allows you and other players in the same group to ride in it (you and someone else only). The hot air balloon is best known for vertical transportation in some maps (reaching upper ledges without having to walk around), and allows you and someone else to return to their last visited village. You cannot move around in a hot-air balloon, only change the direction it's facing.
- You can bring hot air balloons into indoor maps as long as the balloon is directly on the portal, you riding it and holding up to go into the portal. Hot air balloons can also ascend higher if the platform above you can easily be reached, then by pressing the W or Up key.
Mount Combinations
Below is a table showing how compatible the two mounts are against each other. This table is based on one individual summoning two mounts only. You cannot have two or more of the same mount out at a time.
Mounts | Lizard Pet | Broomstick | Sleds | Rockets | Carriages | Hot Air Balloon |
Lizard Pet | N/A | Off-lizard, on Broom | Off-lizard, Sled out | Off-lizard, on/off Rocket | Off-lizard, on Carriage | Off-lizard, on Hot air balloon |
Broomstick | Off-lizard, on Broom | N/A | Sled first, Broom last | Off Rocket, on Broom | Carriage or Broom only | Off Hot air balloon, on Broom |
Sleds | Off-lizard, Sled out | Sled first, Broom last | N/A | Sled or Rocket only | Carriage or Sled only | Hot air balloon or Sled only |
Rockets | Off-lizard, on/off Rocket | Off Rocket, on Broom | Sled or Rocket only | N/A | Carriage or Rocket only | Hot air balloon or Rocket only |
Carriages | Off-lizard, on Carriage | Carriage or Broom only | Carriage or Sled only | Carriage or Rocket only | N/A | Carriage or Hot air balloon only |
Hot Air Balloon | Off-lizard, on Hot air balloon | Off Hot air balloon, on Broomstick | Hot air balloon or Sled only | Hot air balloon or Rocket only | Carriage or Hot air balloon only | N/A |
- Off-*mount type* refers to a player who summoned a specific mount first to let a player ride in it, then getting off of the mount. If there are more than 2 mounts, the order that is given is prioritized (e.g. first mount is lizard, second mount is sled, last mount is broom).
- On *mount type* refers to a player who summoned a specific mount last so the player themselves could get on it (e.g. on Broom, or on Carriage).
- Because you yourself cannot mount on a sled, but other players can, it wouldn't make sense to say "off sled" (saying off implies that you have two options: on or off the sled). "Sled out" is used instead to refer to this fact.
Other Combinations
- Off lizard pet, sled out, on broom
- Off lizard pet, off rocket, on broom
Mount Limitations
- You can have a player sitting in a lizard mount, and still be able to use any of the other mounts, as long as you use the lizard mount to mount a player first. All your other mounts will despawn if you are mounted on the lizard pet.
- Only you can ride in your own broomstick. Broomsticks can be used with any mount with the exception of Carriages, as long as it is used last. Getting off the broomstick despawns it, and all your other mounts except the lizard pet will despawn if you are mounted on the broomstick.
- You cannot ride in sleds. Only other players can ride in your sled. Other sleds, carriages and hot air balloons will despawn your sled while you have a sled out.
- You can ride in your own rocket, and let other players ride in it as well, but not both. Getting off the rocket does not despawn it. Attempting to spawn other sleds of your own, carriages and/or hot air balloons will despawn your rocket while you have a rocket out (while you are not riding in it/someone else is).
- You can ride in your own carriage and let others ride in it as well. Getting off the carriage despawns it, and prevents you from using any other deployable mounts while you are riding on it.
- Therefore, carriages cannot be used alongside any other deployable mount. It can still be used alongside the lizard pet mount.
- You can ride in a hot air balloon and let others ride in it as well. Getting off the hot air balloon does not despawn it. Sleds and carriages will despawn your hot air balloon while you have a hot air balloon out (while you are not riding in it/someone else is).
