Unfriendly is a reputation status between hostile and neutral. It only exists for characters that are part of a faction - any wild monsters will either be neutral, or hostile to you, but never unfriendly.

Characters from a faction that is unfriendly will not talk or trade with you, however they also will not attack you without provocation either. You cannot use supportive spells on unfriendly characters. If you use a hostile spell on them, or support someone that they are fighting, they will turn hostile to you as well.
