[Contest] Quest Design around Saliko Village and Forest

If you roamed around Saliko Village and the forest that surrounds it, you probably found items and monsters that are just there - and that don't really serve a purpose. Forest bugs that scurry around the grass, flimsy webs that you get from spiders - sure, you can kill them for experience, or sell them to Janette after you realized that you can't do anything else with that, but that's all you can do. This needs to change!

In this contest, you write one (or more, if you feel creative!) quest (quests) that takes place in the village, or the forest. They shouldn't be anything fancy! We have fancy quests where you help Choco, where you fight Cladt, or save Sophie from the deep mines.

These quests should be simple. Simple meaning, getting items from (non-guardian*) monsters that haven't been used yet, or killing regular (non-guardian*) monsters that usually don't get killed. Now, if an item or monster is already used for a quest, that's still okay - but try to limit your quests to items and monsters that aren't commonly used. For example, Lavender is used in Alchemy, so it is commonly used. Bug feelers, on the other hand, aren't really used (except for a headgear that only few people get anyway). If you look over to Rose, she will have a new quest for you ("Repaid Efforts") - that could be a good example how your quest could work.

Now, what do you need to do?

Every contest submission must - at the very least - have:

• The NPC that should offer the quest.
• Exactly, word-for-word, what the NPC should say when you click it, and they offer the quest.
• A one-sentence summary what the player needs to do (what's shown under "Objective").
• Exactly, word-for-word what the NPC should say when you did everything they asked for.
• Suggestions what the reward should be.

Things you can use in your quest:

• Any item that's in game.
• You can create new items - less complicated is better. For example, if you kill Forest Bugs, you'll notice they drop a new item, "Sticky Mucus", which is used in Rose's quest. Adding an item is okay for your quest. You don't need to draw the item.
• Any non-guardian* monster that's in game (no new monsters allowed).
• Any location and NPC in Saliko or Saliko Forest (no new NPCs or locations allowed).
• As a reward, you may also suggest a new item and equipment that should be created. If you do that, note that every player will be able to obtain it, and that it will have stats of a level 8-12 non-dungeon item. You don't need to draw the item.

Important: To be eligible to win, there are two more requirements:

• I need to be able to use the quest (and the items) in-game, so you will need grant me permission to use quest and items forever and ever in this game.
• You need to have been an active player recently (this means you logged in at least once in the past two weeks, and your account is in good standing, meaning not suspended or restricted). If you don't know whether you are eligible, send me a private message.

What's in it for you?

• First of all, if your quest is among the winners, it will be added to the game, and you will be given credits. The credits will be at the bottom of the quest text itself, as well as in the main game credits, which will include a link to your website or deviantArt.
• Second, I will chose winners according to how creative, well written quests are, and how easy they are to implement (no escort quests). The first place will get 750 dA points (or the equivalent as an Amazon gift card), the second one 375, the third one 200, the fourth and fifth one 100. If enough good contest entries were submitted, I will start a new chain (i.e. 2x750, 2x375, 2x200, 2x100, 2x100).

Short answer: Yes, but.

Long answer:

Yes, but that should not be the focus of the quest. The quest should be specifically to get items from these monsters, or the monsters themselves killed, and the NPC should have a believable reason for that.

For example, Rose has a good reason why you need to bring her that mucus and the spider legs - she's out of ingredients, and she needs more. She's a witch, so those ingredients fit. For Will, the priest, something else might work.

Anything stat related I'll have to decide, but again, it should not be driving point. What you get should simply be a small reward for your efforts, nothing more.

If it works, I could enter it and maybe even win the science fair! Problem is I’m running out of ingredients. I’d go gather some more but I promised to help Janette at the Café today. Could you gather them for me?

Choco should disappear after you accept the quest. You won’t see her in Saliko village map till you complete or abandon quest. If you enter Janette’s café she will be there though. Once you click complete quest she will return to her spot in Saliko village. Oh and the places that say "Birk" is where u have a insert name spot. :3

Yup, it's the right place.
A little note, simplicity is key. Making NPCs appear and disappear is about the maximum complexity I accept, but even better if it's done without any of that.
In your case, it would require a new spawn of Choco in the café, and a new NPC registration (Choco in the village and the café would be separate NPCs), as well as additional phasing criteria on both, the café and the village NPC - things get complex very quickly.

Anyhow, entry accepted. ;P

 -starter of the quest- you ask kay if you could have a poition and she askes you this insted of asking witch one you would like:ive been trying to make a poition that will make someone invinceible but the one I made only lasts 5 seconds but...if you get some spikes from the lizards and some dust from the energy clouds i could make one that lasts for 5 minites. Quest for Alexandra Gibson (Fur Dyer)

As you walk past, Alexandra calls you over to her
“Why hello there -insert character name-.” *She smiles before continuing.* “I was wondering if you could do me a favor. As you probably already know, I dye furs. However, I've recently run low on a few dyes, and unfortunately, I’ve been unable to contact my regular supplier of dyes. They did send me a few recipes for making replacement dyes in case something like this were to happen. Unfortunately, I have recently gone low on supplies for making my dyes. *Alexandra sighs, then looks at you* I was wondering if you could go into the forest and find me ingredients for me to make my dyes. I'd go myself, but I have to finish a report that Ashylia asked me to write. I need twenty five carrots, twenty clovers, fifteen ferns, and ten lumps of earth. You can get the ferns and pieces of earth from those caterpillars. However, since there are several types of earths, could you bring me twice as much, just to be sure? I know it seems a little much, but you should be able to find enough of each ingredient. Please -insert character name-, could you help me?

You see, since the last time you’ve been here, the branches in our trees seem to be getting extremely weak and breaking every time the wind blows by. This is an extreme danger if anyone were to be walking directly below when it happens. To avoid anyone getting hurt, would you mind running out to Rose’s place? I heard Alexandra talking with Luka about a new potion Rose had come up with and Alexandra’s plans to get the recipe. The potion is supposed to make plants stronger and firm. I would go to her house my self, but I’m too busy making sure people don’t enter the garden with the branches in their condition.
