In-Combat Delay
A player that is in combat is prevented from signing out of the game for ten seconds counted from the last action that put them in-combat. This is to prevent them escaping from a tight situation by signing out.
Players that attempt to sign out during this delay are shown a timer counting down from 15 seconds, during which they can not perform any action (this timer can be cancelled, allowing them to move once again, however, this also cancels the logout process). Once the timer has counted down to zero, they are signed out, whether or not they are in combat.
Players may still forcefully disconnect by typing "/quit!" into the chat box or by closing their browser, however they will not actually be signed out for however much of the delay was remaining at the time they disconnected.
Several situations increase the in-combat delay, so that players who accidentally disconnect can rejoin the battle if they reconnect quickly:
Status | In-Combat Delay |
---|---|
During a boss battle | 90 seconds |
Inside an area that will respawn you when logged out[1] | 1 minute |
On PvP maps | 30 seconds |
Controlling a monster | 45 seconds |
- ↑ Examples for this are the Everchange Caverns, the Tunnels of Illusion, and several event maps.
