After accepting the quest, Akia will teleport you directly to Cladt's hideout. If this is the first time you accepted the quest, you will be given three new guardian pet skills: Stay, Follow and Attack. Use Stay and Follow to make sure Akia stays out of trouble.
Walking to the right towards Cladt will automatically start the encounter. Akia will debuff Cladt significantly, so he'll have less health and attack strength than he usually would.
General hints:
- A good weapon makes the fight shorter. If you haven't gotten anything else, NPC: Erik the Blacksmith is selling fruit knives in the village.
- Make sure you have your skill points (Skill: Toughness helps) and stat points spent (vitality helps, as does strength). This quest is quite hard if you are below Cladt's level and have neither Skill: Toughness nor any points in vitality.
Hints:
- Cladt basically has one killer attack, and that's his "Staggering Roar". It hits anything around him for a fair amount of damage, and stuns for three seconds. You will see a warning when he is about to use it, and should use the time to get away from him. Make sure Akia won't get hit by it either.
- If Akia isn't casting anything she'll follow you, so make sure you aren't making her run through Cladt just as he finishes his "Staggering Roar" cast. Either run in the direction she's standing, or if she's far enough away, ask her to Stay.
- If she's casting something, you can still use the appropriate skill to tell her to "Follow". She will then cancel her cast and follow you immediately. This should not really be necessary though, her casts all take less than two seconds, and Cladt's "Staggering Roar" has a four second cast time.
- Cladt uses two knockback skills. Make sure he isn't knocking you or Akia down from the tree, the fall will kill you.
- Every thirty seconds, a monster will join the fight. If you don't do anything, it'll notice Akia healing you and go for her. Make sure you kill it as soon as you can, because it can stun you and hits for a bit of damage too.
- If Akia gets stunned, has to heal herself, or the situation looks dire in general, a potion may turn the battle to your favour.
If you die, just hit respawn - you'll end up in the city, and can pick up the quest from Akia again right away. Don't revive yourself, because if you do, you won't have Akia around to help you.
