Your Thunderbolt spell also applies a Lightning Charge on the target. If Thunderbolt hits a target with five Lightning Charges, it will deal additional 15% damage.

Skill Usage

Overcharge is a passive skill that allows the spell Thunderbolt to accumulate stacks of Lightning Charge on a target. At five stacks, this can continued with to deal an additional 15% damage with Thunderbolt until the target dies, or can be consumed (all stacks to be removed) to attain certain effects from other skills:

Lightning Rod: Using the skill on a monster with one or more stacks of Lightning Charge removes it from them. By doing so, you recover a percentage of your base mana based on the number of stacks removed from the target.

Overload: Using Overload on a monster with at least one stack of Lightning Charge will allow the skill to deal the full amount of damage. Without any stacks to be removed, Overload's damage is cut in half. Any subsequent stacks of Lightning Charge beyond the first one will further increase the damage of Overload by 8% (per stack to a maximum of 32%).

Notes

  • The maximum amount of Lightning Charges a target can possess at once is five. Thunderbolt is the only skill that can add a stack of Lightning Charge to a monster. With the Charm of Raging Lightning, both the first and second Lightning Bolts can add a stack of Lightning Charge each on the targets.
