Counters the magic-based skill your target prepares, interrupting it and preventing it from using a spell from the same school for a brief period of time.

Skill Usage

Disrupt Magic (or shortened as disrupt), is a key situational skill that prevents a monster or boss from carrying out one of their magical spells during at the time of their cast. With it's near instant casting time, you can stop certain spells guaranteed that the person using disrupt can respond to it quickly. However, Disrupt is expensive to cast and can drain your mana if used inappropriately.

While Disrupt Magic can prevent magical spells, skills like the Warrior's Smite, the Hunter's Disrupting Shot and the Priest spell Curse of Silence can prevent both physical and magical spells. At Lv. 2, Disrupt can prevent a monster from using their spells of the same school three seconds longer over other interrupt skills.

Notes

  • Disrupt Magic can only prevent magical spells. For instance, an AoE such as Lightning Bolt can be prevented, but a skill such as Pounce cannot. There are some spells that cannot be interrupted at all, often indicated by a shield icon next to the casting bar.
  • Few bosses are immune to being interrupted with entirely, or has a limit to the number of interrupts it can receive before becoming fully immune to them. A particular monster such as the Beholder (from Blackwood Depths) can interrupt all spells at close proximity if it is not already suffering from freeze or sleep.
