Skill Usage
Cure Poison is a support spell crucial to Priests. It removes up to one stack of a particular poison debuff at a time, and is used to get rid of poison effects on allies that would otherwise be harmful. It is relatively cheap to use, and is mandatory in all sorts of groups of players.
Poisonous skills are more common in monsters at higher levels. They will try to poison you and cause great damage over time in addition to their melee swings, often causing you to have to use your healing spells more to make up for it. This can lead to a priest wasting valuable mana that they could have saved up for the next spell that the monster will throw at you. By using Cure Poison, it will thwart the monster's strategy, and allow you to save mana while being able to heal just as effectively.
However, Cure Poison should not be used if a monster uses a weak poison that consists of many stacks in order to accumulate damage. For instance, using Cure Poison five times on a player that has five stacks of Poison that deals 50 damage per stack (that would total up to 250 damage every 3 seconds) is more wasteful than sticking with one use of Revitalise.
Notes
- Poison debuffs can be recognized as a debuff with a green outline on it. If it has a green outline, that means you can use Cure Poison to remove it.
- You can use Cure Poison to remove sleep, which is usually caused by the spell Nightfall or Sleep Powder.
