Skill Usage

Terrify is a crowd-control spell that does not inflict damage, but rather causes the target to run in fear, constantly moving and stopping in a random direction for up to 35 seconds. This is similar to a spell like Nightfall where the effect can end early when the target takes damage, but instead allows the target to move. Dark Priests however, can attack the terrified target with certain spells (e.g: Dark Bolt, Torment) and not end the effect early.

This spell can be unsuitable for situations where you want to prevent the target from attacking you, and not accidentally run into an AoE spell that could break Terrify early. Another problem might arise when you want to attack the target, but they have ran so far away from you that you cannot reach them.


  • Monsters with this spell have an unfair advantage over players, allowing them to inflict damage to you without breaking Terrify early.
  • Mechanical type monsters are immune to Terrify. Demons and Undead have a reduced effect against them, and in PvP, against players is limited to 1/5 of it's duration.
  • Scary Idol at level 28, the only charm without "Charm of" in it's name, can extend the duration of Terrify by 33%.
