Conjure burning embers, setting your target ablaze and dealing fire elemental damage over 18 seconds. Only one of your embers can be active per target at a time.

Skill Usage

Embers is a damage over time skill that inflicts a moderate amount of fire element damage on an enemy every three seconds over the course of 18 seconds. It is often used alongside Fire Bolt and Ignite against a single monster.

Embers is affected by Infernal Heat, having a 50% chance of also applying the Pyromaniac buff to yourself that slightly speeds up the casting of the rest of your spells. The amount that Pyromaniac will speed up for depends on the level of Infernal Heat.

Embers is a skill used in combination with Ignite, requiring the effect of Embers on a monster to already be applied before using Ignite itself. This combination is necessary for a Mage focusing on fire skills so that Ignite can recover a portion of mana from the damage it inflicts on the target.

Notes

Embers can be used in combination with another skill through a charm to activate it's effect:

  • At level 28, Charm of Eternal Flame has a 50% chance of refreshing Ember's duration back to full on the affected target when using Fire Bolt. This allows you to forget about using Embers once you have already applied it on the enemy for the first time, and continue to use Ignite once it's cooldown is gone to restore mana, allowing you to keep using Fire Bolt as well as other skills.
