Use a Green Fern to enchant your current main hand glove with the poison element for up to 30 minutes. You need to have a glove equipped.

Skill Usage
A skill for melee Hunters that converts their melee attacks from Neutral to Poison. Does not apply to ranged attacks (their element type is decided by the type of arrow you use instead). Requires 1 Green Fern each time you use the skill, which can easily be obtained from monsters in Saliko.
Poison is strong against monsters whose defending element are Neutral (+12.5%), Water (+12.5%), Wind (+12.5%), Earth (+25%), Light (+12.5%), while normal vs. itself (0%). Do not use Poison against monsters whose defending element are Fire (-12.5%), Dark (-25%) or Ghost (-25%).
Notes
- Ideally as a melee Hunter, you want to use a Fire glove or Ember Coating against Dark & Ghost, a Water glove (alternative is Icepaw Glove) or Glacial Coating against Fire & Ghost.
- If you are stuck switching between Neutral and Poison elements, you want to use Neutral against Fire (0%), Dark (-12.5%, less weak than Poison). If you have Water, but not Fire, use Water (-5%, less weak than Neutral) over Neutral against Dark.
